IMG_2970 1The next two weeks I will be sewing all kinds of small gifts for Sinterklaas. First I made the Japanese knot bag. It’s also my November contribution to the SAL of a stash busting group. In another post I’ve shared my stylish accessories contribution at this group with you.

The Japanese knotted bag perfect as travel holiday bag

This bag is going to be used as travel holiday bag. This isn’t the first fabric travel holiday bag I’ve made. One of the big advantage of a fabric travel holiday bag is that are to clean: just throw them in the washing machine, iron them and they are ready to use them again. The other advantage is that these kind of bags can be hang on a clothes hook in the bathroom so you’ve all your necessary items with you. This bag will be for a friend of mine who travels a lot. The fabric is a leftover from this 50s styled blouse

Dumpling Coin Purse

IMG_2977 dumpling 2The second made concerns the dumpling coin purse. This is made for an asian food lover. Sewing the dumpling together was easy, but the hardest part was the sewing of the zipper in the purse. The fabric and lining were bought more twenty years ago. Both were used for quit a few projects, especially clown related sewings. The zipper was ripped out of a discarded jacket ages ago.

Time and Costs

Time used for both projects: 5h
Arbeidsuren voor beide projecten: 5uur

I made a sewing pattern for the dumpling coin purse. This pattern is for free and needs a zipper of 15cm.

  1. What a cute little coin purse! I had a look at the tutorial, how do you download the template? I managed to install something from an ad thinking that was the template, I’m a little confused by that website!

    • Thank you Andrea. I’ve drafted the pattern myself, because I could’t find the template also. I will make a document and attach it to the post.
