Elle Puls Tunika Elle is a blouse sewing pattern which is just been released. I was so fortuned to test this beautiful Elle Puls Tunika Elle sewing pattern. Elke Puls is the designer of the Tunika Elle. She is a German pattern designer and has already designed some great patterns. You can also find a few free patterns on her webpage as well.

Elle Puls Tunika Elle sewing pattern

Tunika Elle is a great versatile pattern. Elke describes Tunika Elle as ‘a tunic I could live in’ and I second that. Tunika Elle has some beautiful details. The Elle Puls Tunika Elle pattern is also a slow sewing project. The style is timeless and classic but has a contemporary feel. This tunic has two beautiful side seams that are running into the hem construction. A hidden button placket, a separate back and front shoulder yoke, a breast pocket, two sleeve length options and a fitted center back seam are the other details of the Tunika Elle. Elle Puls Tunika Elle is available from size 34 to 48 and for normal and long body length. You can print this pattern in any size you want due to the layered pattern tiles. The pattern has besides the added seam allowances also the stitching lines indicated at the pattern pieces.

Sweetbriar Sisters three little lovies – the elephant lovey

Sweetbriar Sisters three little lovies is a pattern that comes with three different animal options. You can choose between a giraffe, a cow and an elephant. A while ago I received the test version of the pattern of these three little lovies. I have enough grey and pink fabric at home and decided to make the elephant lovey.

Wildling Dolly becomes Pirate King Boy

Wildling Dolly becomes Pirate King Boy is made of a pattern from Jeanine Thomlinson of StitchART. I follow her on IG and a couple of days ago she did a call for pattern testers for her new pattern especially the boy version. Making a kind of rag doll was still on my wish list so this was a good encouragement to make one. At that moment I was working on my chino. The fabrics on the table inspired me to make a boy version based on the picture I saw on IG. I started making plans how I wanted the boy to look like. I made a sketch in my notebook and I started copying the pattern pieces. Wildling Dolly is made while I was sewing my chino as well. Both projects use the same yarn colours and therefor it was easy to do it at the same time.

Making the Wildling Dolly becomes Pirate King Boy

This rag doll pattern asks for a free sewing motion feet to make the eyes, cheeks and mouth. I don’t have a free motion feet on my machine so I made the eyes and cheeks from fabric, stabilised them with fusible interfacing and using a small zigzag to sew them on the face. The mouth is made with the three way stitch that comes with my sewing machine. The boy had a long sleeved shirt and therefore I gave him hands using the same fabric that was used for the face. His boots are made of black cotton velvet. The crown is made of some leftover yellow fabric. I decided to leave the crown open on the top so one can see the beautiful lining. The eyepatch is sewing on the crown between the top fabric and the lining. The red belt is made of a piece of lining silk.

Silky Mamma Spider

Silky Mamma Spider – the pattern

Silky Mamma Spider is made of the new pattern from The Sweetbriar Sisters, the Spooky Spider. Jessica is a talented designer of wonderful toy patterns that makes great softies for kids. I had the pleasure of testing their newest pattern after testing Tully the Turtle. A spider this time and therefore a perfect sewing make for Halloween. The pattern comes in full-size and seam allowance are included. You’ve the wonderful option to make a Mamma Spider or a Baby Spider or perhaps make both. On every piece is written how many times to cut and out which fabric. Matching notches are drafted on the pattern pieces too. The instructions are well written and with clear pictures for the more visual sewer to help you from step one until you’ve finished the spider.

Silky Mamma Spider

Silky Mamma Spider – my version

Silky Mamma Spider is made of silk fabric. I decided to give her contrasting legs. I made my legs of black heavy lining fabric. The white of the eyes is made of white cotton fabric and sewn on the body with a small narrow zigzag stitch. I ironed some fusible interfacing on the back of the cotton to give it some firmness. I did the same also on the back of the front body but not only on the position of white eye but also on the place of the month. Instead of safety eyes I used a button with a concave shape and a little white pearl bead. Both are sewn on carefully and well attached so they won’t come loose when the spider is given to a child. The month is done with a decorative stitch from my sewing machine using a slight thicker yarn.

Zircon Cocktail Dress or LBD

xjurk voor_10282016 sewings starts with a new dress. One of the garments which is still missing from my closet is a LBD. A LBD (Little black dress) is a black evening or cocktail dress, cut simply and often quite short. On the 8th of December in the last year Paprika Patterns released  a new sewing pattern: the Zircon dress and I had the change to write a review for this dress.
