Me-Made-May 2016 – Why
Me-Made-May 2016 gives me the opportunity to show all my homemade clothes during the month May. It’s a challenge to make all kinds of combinations with my homemade clothes and keep all the RTW clothes that are still in my closet keep hanging there. Me-Made-May encourages me to go on with making to make all my clothes instead of buying clothes.
Me-Made-May 2016 – Waarom
During the previous month you could follow on a daily base what I was wearing on IG. In April 2014 I decided to make all my own clothes. Every time when I’ve to say goodbye to a RTW garment it’s replaced by a new homemade item. About 75% of my wardrobe is already handmade. This is third time that I’ve joined this IG MeMadeMay happening. I even managed to wear complete 100% outfits in 2015. So how was I doing this year? Time for a small review of my MeMadeMay 2018 showing homemade clothes.
Roundup Homemade May wearings 2016 – the challenge
Roundup Homemade May wearings 2016 is the end story of wearing only homemade clothes during the month May. I really liked taking part in this challenge and sharing my makes on Instagram and Pinterest. Did I wear all my homemade clothes? Now there are still a few pieces that did’t came out of the closet. I haven’t been wearing some of my clothes made for the KNIPster 2016-sewing award and for the SSW1-challenge. In one of my next posts I will write something about the SSW1-challenge, sharing photo’s of my makes and will tell something about the pieces I made and how I made them.

May wearings fourth week – day to day
May wearings fourth week will be opened telling you what I was wearing for the lunch in a restaurant. Just like last week temperatures were going up and down. A couple of days with sunshine and then a couple of days with grey, cold and rain. Sunday wasn’t the best day for the lunch. When we arrived it was still dry. The walk in the city and a coffee on the terras were done in dry, a little bit sunny weather. After looking at some shops it was time to find a nice restaurant for a lunch and just when we were sitting down on the terras it started to rain. After the lunch we ran back to the car, but when we passed a forrest we decided to use the umbrellas for a small walk. Under the trees and with the umbrellas it wasn’t as bad as in the city. On Thursday the weather changed and Friday and Saturday was sunny with nice temperatures.
May wearings third week – day to day
May wearings third week was the third week I was trying to wear only selfmade clothes. After the first two weeks I found it was still easy to find new wearable combinations. The weather this week was a factor to consider about. One day it was warm and sunny and the next day it was cold and rain. Sometimes going away from home it was and cold and when it was about lunchtime the weather had changed and the temperature was about 22 °C.

May wearings second week was my second effort trying to wear only selfmade clothes. After the first week I was wondering if I was able to find new combinations I hadn’t been wearing during the first week. Surprisingly there wasn’t any problem. The weather was with me so the T-shirts that I had been sewing last year and now it was 18 °C and more there wasn’t any problem to find a lot of combinations.

May wearings first week was my first effort trying to wear only selfmade clothes. When I decided to enter the MMM-challenge I had no idea how many of my clothes are selfmade. Well I could have made an educated guess, but I decided to count all my clothes and categorize them into RTW and selfmade. I really was surprised when it was 40selfmade/60RTW. Most of my selfmade clothes are T-shirts for the summer. When the week started with cold weather I thought it was going to be tough but suddenly on Thursday the weather changed and it was 18 °C.
