A while ago husband was looking at his shirts and found out that a few of them had seen better days. Because you have to make an appointment to visit a fabric store I decided to take a look in the Stoffenstraat website. They have a great collection of all kind of fabrics.

Sewing male underwear part 2

Sewing male underwear part 2 is my search to draft the ultimate sewing pattern for a round neck T-shirt and boxershort for my husband. I started sewing T-shirts and boxershorts for my husband almost a year ago and still he isn’t 100% satisfied with the result. He wanted another T-shirt length, some neckline changes and also some minor changes on the fit of the boxershorts. I drafted two new patterns and started cutting and sewing.

His Boxershort versus her Tunnel Scarf

His Boxershort versus her Tunnel Scarf are both made of leftover fabric. The main fabric for the tunnel scarf came from the ethnic print cut in sleeve top. The boxershort is made entirely made of the main fabric. My husband still wasn’t happy with the finishing of the waistband. After cutting the top I had enough length left to sew a boxershort for my husband. Perfect to make a third version. The off cuts of the main fabric were used to make an other tunnel scarf. I also found some scraps left of the black yoke top and my red cocktail dress. Both matched really beautiful with the main fabric and therefore could be used too.

Four Mens Boxer Shorts

Four Mens Boxer Shorts were made after I had been making this sample for my husband. Although he was happy with the sample I decided to make a few changes to the pattern when I saw him wearing the sample. All four are made different (I’m searching for a good way to sew them to get the best fit and outcome), but they are all sewed using a overstitch sewing machine. Two of them have elastic in the waistband using small elastic.

Four Mens Boxer Shorts zijn gemaakt nadat ik dit proefmodel had gemaakt. Ofschoon hij tevreden was met de uitkomst besloot ik toch een paar veranderingen aan te brengen toen ik zag hoe de boxer short zat.

Sewing Menswear

Sewing Menswear is about making some T-shirt and boxers for my husband. My husband is very tall and lots of his RTW T-shirt are to short for him. I offered him to make some new T-shirts for him with the desired length. Besides the T-shirts I also offered to make his Boxer-shorts. A while ago he bought some new Boxer-shorts, but when he was wearing them he found the legs to tight. An earlier bought Boxer-short had much wider legs, but sadly these weren’t available anymore. Last week I copied this Boxer-short and in my pile of discarded T-shirts I found one big enough to sew a sample.
