Asymmetrische designs kunnen altijd rekenen op mijn belangstelling en vaak belandt zo’n patroon dan ook (miraculeus) in mijn winkelmandje. Zo ook deze Lore Piar Leia Top.
Asymmetrical designs can always count on my interest and and such a pattern often (miraculously) ends up in my shopping cart. This also happened with this Lore Piar Leia Top.
Lore Piar Leia Top pattern
Je kunt met dit patroon kiezen uit een Top met mouwen of zonder. Deze Top heeft plooien in de zijnaad ter hoogte van de taille en een middenachternaam. Naast deze designdetails is natuurlijk de asymmetrische col met plooien die in het oog springt. Je maakt deze Top van rekbare stof met minimaal 50% rek zodat de Top een goede fit heeft.
You van choose between a set-in long sleeves or sleeveless version. It has side pleats and a centre back seam. The asymmetrical turtleneck is of course the eye-catcher of this design. You make this Top with a medium-weight stretch fabric with at least 50% stretch so it has close-to-the-body fit.
Aan de slag
Ik begon met een paar aanpassingen na het lezen van een aantal reviews. Zo heeft mijn Leia Top geen middenachternaad en plooien in de zijnaad en koos voor maat 36. DezeTop is redelijk eenvoudig in elkaar te zetten op de asymmetrische col na.
Uit mijn voorraad diepte ik uiterst rekbare roze jersey met glitters. Perfect voor een luxe versie. Nadat de schoudernaden gesloten staan begin je met de col. Ik stik altijd een stukje vlieseline mee als ik het hoekje voor stik om uitscheuren te voorkomen na het inknippen. De col zat erop en nu was het nog een kwestie van de mouw- en zijnaden sluiten en de zomen stikken.
Sewing the Lore Piar Leia Top together
I made two alterations after reading a few reviews. The centre back seam and side pleats are removed and made size 36. This Top is a joy to sew together. You only have to pay attention when you’re sewing the asymmetrical turtleneck.
In my stash I found a piece of pink jersey fabric with glitters. Perfect for a shinny version. After sewing the shoulder seams it was time to sew the turtleneck. I always stitch some interfacing when I pre-stitch the point mark to prevent it from tearing out. Now I had my turtleneck it was time to close the sleeve and side seams. Finally the hems of the body and sleeves were stitched.

Twee voor de dezelfde prijs
Iemand is tijdens het afknippen erg genereus geweest. In plaats van de gevraagde 1 meter kreeg ik 1,20 meter. Terwijl de stof op de tafel lag vroeg ik mijzelf af of met een beetje geluk niet nog één shirt kon maken. Zo maakte ik eind maart het Amsterdam shirt. Een versie met korte mouw zag ik wel zitten. Na wat heen en weer schuif lagen de patroondelen van beide shirts op de stof.
Beide Tops zijn een welkome aanvulling in mijn T-shirt collectie. Daarnaast is het ook de perfecte mei MAGAM-bijdrage waar het draait om minimalisme. Een andere leuke bijkomstigheid is dat beide shirt perfect passen bij één van de stoffen uit de Make-Nine-Sew-over-50 uitdaging. Tijd dus om op zoek te gaan naar een patroon om ook met deze stof aan de slag te gaan.
Two for the price of one
Someone has been very genereus and gave 1,20 meter instead of 1,00 meter. While the fabric was on the table I wondered if it was possible to make two instead of one. The Amsterdam shirt made at the end of March has a short sleeve version too. Perfect for the coming Summer. After some playing with pattern pieces of both Tops the perfect lay-out was found.
Both Tops are a welcome addition to my T-shirt collection. It is also the perfect May MAGAM contribution that focuses on minimalism. Another great bonus is that both shirts match perfectly with one of the fabrics from the Make-Nine-Sew-over-50 challenge. Time to start searching for a pattern to start making this garment too.
