Christina Albeck designes patterns for women but also for men. She decided to update the WBM Men’s Draper Polo T-Shirt and was looking for testers. Husband was in need for a new poloshirt. Due to my positive experience with cargo shorts I decided to apply to her call.
Er is ook een Nederlandse versie: het WBM Men’s Draper Polo T-Shirt.
Draper Polo pattern
This Draper Polo has two front buttons at the placket a conventional polo collar and side vents. You can also add a breast pocket choose between two short sleeve lengths or long sleeves. and optional front pocket. Medium weight jersey fabric with stretch is the perfect choice for this polo. The pattern comes in a large size range: 2XS-4XL. And last but not least: You can choose to print all layers or just the one for your selected size.
WBM Men’s Draper Polo T-Shirt version I made for my husband
I didn’t had any suitable fabric left in my fabric stash for this polo shirt so I started searching in webshops. Since I had good experience with Megan Blue fabrics I decided to look out for this fabric brand. Stoffenstraat has a large Megan Blue collection. My eyes fell upon this Ready for Take-off tricot together with plane jeans tricot for the collar, plackets and breast pocket.
Both fabrics have a good stretch as well as fabric weight (220grams/m2). The construction of the placket was new to me but all went well due to the well written instructions and illustrations. You like to watch instruction video’s. Christine made also made the How to stitch the Draper Polo shirt video.
Size, fit and outcome
My husband is wearing size XL based on the measurements charts. XL is designed for body height 1.80m. Although husband is 1.92m he prefers his shirts not too long so I didn’t altered the length of the shirt. The proof of the pudding is in the eating but the fit was perfect. Husband is very pleased with his new polo shirt. Details like the side slits, the placket construction and the polo collar gives this Draper Polo an almost RTW outcome.
I can see myself making a few more when Spring has arrived in 2021. Or perhaps make a long sleeved version for the coming Autumn and Winter. You want to make this Draper Polo shirt too. I’ve got great news for you: The WBM Draper Polo shirt pattern is on sale for $10 ( reg $ 12) until 10-08-2020.

Matching homemade face mask
The measures to keep the spreading of the virus under controle have been tightened since last Monday. I decided to make a matching face mask. Husband wears spectacles and one of the problems while wearing a face mask are fogged lenses. I still haven’t the perfect pattern to resolve this problem. So this mask is made of a combination of a couple of patterns. It still isn’t perfect but for now he’s happy with it.
