I enter the TMS sewing challenge on a more or less regulair base. Miss Bossy is paying a visit.
I’m a little bit late with my appeal but hope some of you will stil help me out. This seamstress needs help choosing sewing challenge fabric for the TMS Miss Bossy Sewing Challenge. March was a very busy month. The usual obligations and of course the sewing of my RDC Manteau Gerard. So it was April before I knew it. Although my Fabric stash is slowly increasing it’s still there and after entering #MDPM I found out I’ve also lots of unused PDF-patterns on my laptop. I’ve picked three fabrics and also have already found patterns for them as well. The only thing that’s left is making a decision. So here we go.
Fabric number one
A blue stretch fabric with small white inwoven dots. I’m going to use the wrong side of this fabric for some detailing. I wanted to use this nautical Chanel inspired Top pattern again but sadly I can’t find it back. The good news is I’ve found two similar patterns from Indie pattern designers. The Madame Marlene by Fritzi Schnittreif and Top Paris by Oraguese.
Fabric number two
An olive green sweater fabric. And again I’m going to use the wrong side of the fabric. This green sweater fabric will be used to make a Top. I support another famous Indie pattern maker with this make. I do a pattern hack using two Colette patterns.
Fabric number three
My usual monochroom black/white fabric combined with black fabric. This fabric will be used to make a blouse. This blouse will also be a hack of two patterns. This time I use the Wearable Studio Franki Top and the RDC Agnes Top. I already used the Wearable Franki Top pattern and shape and fit are perfect.
Seamstress needs help choosing sewing challenge fabric – the next step
I leave my appeal open for one week because preparing the hacks and sewing takes time. What if nobody responds? No problem. I’ve two amazing daughters, a lovely husband and some friends to help me out. My April TMS contribution will be ready before the end of this month.
I vote #3
thank you for voting
I like the spots, but feel as though number three is very typical of your style. Good luck!
Number one will look great on jeans and you’e right nummer three is my usual colour scheme. Looking at the preference of the voters: number one is probably the winner.
I vote for number 3. 🙂
Great. Thank you.
I vote for number 1. Polka dots are fun for spring and summer wearing.
Thank you. I think this fabric is going to be the winner.
I vote fo #1. I like the nautical idea.
Thank you for voting.
I love the first one, the back of it is a little more interesting than the plain option. No matter which one have fun!
Thank you so much for voting. If I do a zippered back all depends on my fabric. My concern is whether the fabric is ferm enough to hold the zipper.
I love the blue fabric with the tiny dots so that’s my vote! The pattern you chose for it looks like just your style and perfect for the fabric.
Thank you Diane for voting. You’re right the combination of the pattern and blue fabric with the tiny dots are really my style.
I vote fabric number one! :o)
Thank you for voting.
I’m yet to sew a Colette pattern. So would love to see what you come up with. (I am also rather partial to olive green).
Thank you for voting. Don’t worry if another fabric wins I do the other two as well in the following months.
I love the blue dotted fabric – very cute for a Breton top.
Thank you for voting. No matter what the winner is: the other two will be made as well in the following months.
I vote for the black and white. I’d love to see your Franki and Agnes hack!
Thank you for voting. We’ll see what happens. No matter what while be the winner: the Franki&Agnes will done anyway.
