It’s almost 2018. I started this year with a bucket list of 15 items. How many items are completed after 365 days. Time for my Round-up Bucket list 2017. I start with the items that are still on the list. Traveling with a mobile home, eating french fries in Belgium in a so could ‘frietkot’ and using all the giftcards. That doesn’t sound too bad.
More or less succeeded
We visited once in the two months a museum. Clearing out our bookcase is halfway. The room with the bookcase needs to be re-decorated. This will be done after the attack has been re-decorated. My laptop has also been cleared out and I’ve made an new structure. The only thing I’ve to next is replacing all documents and pdf’s in the new structure.
The succeeded goals
We have made a start with the clearing out. Lots of items were places on ‘Marktplaats’ and items that were unsold after a while went to charity shops. I made two bags for Stichting BriBos (for women with breast cancer) and ten bibs voor Creatief voor Babyspulletjes (for parents with small margins). This scarf using stash yarn. Our bedroom has been re-decorated but I aso painted our bathroom, toilet and kitchen. I did some cooking using collected recipes and I also used the mini cooking pots. These also came on the table on Boxing Day for the dessert.
The 10.000 steps/day was easily done. My mother has a remake of her Gudrun Top instead of the Japanese T-shirt. We had planned a visit the annual Lille Christmas market but due to work this visit was cancelled. We went to a local Christmas market instead.
Combinations of patterns and fabrics from stash
I had 45,40 meter at the beginning of this year and my first make was the RDC Ludivine dress using 2 meter from the stash. An apron for Valentine and the DP-studio pull and another 3.5 meter less on the shelf. The remake of a RTW-Top for my mother but also this back buttoned top and the reducing was almost 25%. The Elle Puls Elle Tunika hack was one of the winners in the TMS Indie pattern month, the Elle Puls Bethioua Back Yoke Raglan Top, the Style Arc Cassie Pant and the populair LMV Aster trui are all made of stash. This Fashion Style jacket was finally finished so I finally could say goodbye to 1.50 meter for this make in my stash. I had some trouble with a grey fabric but the Named Talvikki sweater in a more fitted version was the perfect solution. In December I used another 2 meters for this black/white jeans.
I already mentioned my fabric stash that I wanted reduce by 50 %. My stash was 45,40 meter at the beginning of this year. My last sewings were four T-shirts and two were made of 2,30 meter stash fabrics. I counted my stash again and there’s now 22,75 meter on my shelf.
Goals for 2018
A bucket list is a wonderful idea and I’m already thinking of a follow -up for 2018. Some 2017 will appear in 2018.
Eating french fries in Belgium in a so could ‘frietkot’ and reducing the fabric stash are two of them. My wish is to have no fabric stash at the end of the 2018. Storing fabrics in your living room isn’t the best place for them so some have some damage due to the multifunction of the cupboard. I try to use my purchased fabrics immediately or at least in the same Season.
The clearing out will continue and I start with our attack.
It’s almost time for the champagne and firework. All the best wishes for 2018. Thank you for stopping by, reading my posts, leaving comments and see you in 2018.
