These two toned black and grey jeans are the second garment I’ve finished for the November challenge of the Monthly Stitch. Both clothes are made from my stash. The color of the mannish coat matches beautiful with the jeans and also with a sweater and infinity scarf that I made earlier. The fabric of the jeans is stretch denim: 97% denim with 3% spandex. This type of fabric just give a little bit of stretch for more wearable comfort, but not to much to make the jeans baggy within two hours while wearing.
Deze zwart-grijze jeans is het tweede kledingstuk dat gemaakt is voor de November bijdrage aan the Monthly Stitch. Beide kledingstukken zijn gemaakt uit mijn stoffenvoorraad. De kleur van de oversized coat en jeans passen goed bij elkaar, maar ook bij een trui en sjaal die eerder gemaakt zijn. De jeans is gemaakt van rekbare denimstof: 97% denim with 3% spandex. Dit geeft de jeans net genoeg rek voor draagcomfort, maar maakt de broek na 2 uur dragen niet lubberig.
The jeans pattern
The jeans are made of my TNT-pants-pattern. It’s a 5-pocket and this time I’ve used straight plain back pockets instead of the curved ones that I used before. On the back pockets I have added some decorative stitching. This is always a moment for some designing. Finally I want to come up with something I that really like and make it definitely my own unique statement on the back pockets and that stands out. In the discarded clothes pile I found a light grey dress shirt. This was used for the pockets insides and the bias band to finish the waistband. The fabric for the pockets insides is cut on the bias to give it some stretch just like the fabric of the jeans.
Het 5-pocket jeans patroon
De broek is gemaakt van mijn vertrouwde patroon als 5-pocket model. De achterzakken hebben ditmaal een recht model. De achterzakken hebben sierstiksels. Dit is altijd iets waar ik even tijd voor neem. In de toekomst hoop ik dan echt iets gevonden te hebben dat dan mijn eigen unieke en voor altijd ontwerp zal zijn. Een grijs afgedankte overhemd is gebruikt voor de binnenzakken en de biaisband op de tailleband. De stof voor de binnenzakken is schuin van draad geknipt, zodat er een beetje rek ontstaat net als in de stof van de broek.
Hem and rivet details
The jeans is finished with a high/low hem. The belt loops are turned: the normal back-side of the loop is now the right-side of the loop. The topstitching is done with normal machine polyester grey thread using the stretch triple straight which is decorative stitch on my sewing machine. Because I couldn’t find matching rivets I sewed Denim Bartacks, which is also a decorative sewing stitch on my sewing machine. The jeans closes with a button that came from my button collection and buttonhole is a corded eyelet buttonhole with pointed tack. This type of buttonhole gives the buttonhole more strength and makes it more outstanding. This type of buttonhole works very well on a jeans and in this case when stretched denim is used.
De pijpzoom, jeansklinknagels en sierstikstel
De zoom is een hoog/laag zoom. De riemlussen hebben wat normaal de achterkant van de riemlus is nu aan de voorkant. Het sierstiksel is gemaakt met gewoon grijs machine garen waarbij ik de Elastische Drievoudige Rechte Steek van mijn naaimachine heb gebruikt. In plaats van klinknagels is gekozen voor de Jeanstrenssteek. De jeans sluit met een knoop uit mijn knopendoos en het knoopsgat is een mantelknoopsgat met verstevigd met inlegdraad. Dit type knoopsgat is zeer geschikt voor een broek waarbij stretched denim wordt gebruikt.

My new two toned black and grey jeans
Conclusion: Jeans are one of the garments that are a wardrobe base item so for the November theme this was a perfect choice. The jeans fits perfectly and is really nice to wear with that little bit of stretch. The jeans combines very well with my earlier made LBS and the tunnel scarf.
Conclusie: Jeans zijn een van de basis kledingstukken in een kledingkast en was de perfecte keuze voor de november bijdrage. De jeans zit heerlijk door dat beetje rek. Bovendien combineert de broek goed met Ik ben zeer tevreden met deze rode broek. Het combineert goed met mijn eerder gemaakte LBS en tunnelsjaal.
