WardrobebyMe Summer Tulip Top floral print version

Clothes with floral prints can be seen each year on the catwalk. A floral print can give a plane looking skirt, jeans or plane looking blouse a complete different look. This floral print came from my stash. I bought this fabric more then four years ago soon when I started making my own clothes. This remand was about one meter, a soft and light cotton with a little shine. This fabric came several times on the table but I never found a suitable pattern for it. A few weeks ago Wardrobe by Me offered several of their patterns with 20% discount. I had spotted the Summer Tulip Top and decided to make it from floral print fabric.

Grainline Scout Tee two fabric version

If one does a search on the internet can see many different versions of the Grainline Scout Tee. Scout Tees made of the suggested woven fabrics but also a few made of jersey fabric as well. Besides changing the fabric you also can see altered necklines, Peter Pan collars and Tunic versions. I’ve even seen versions with a breast pocket. I couldn’t resist to do some alterations as well. My Grainline Scout Tee two fabric version is made of woven and jersey fabric. Crepe for the front and sleeves and jersey for the back.

BurdaStyle May 2012 skirt 118

After making three pleated skirts without a pattern I decided to go searching for a pattern with some interesting details.

BurdaStyle May 2012 skirt 118

And lucky me I came across #greatbigpatternswap on IG. Someone was offering a BurdaSyle. She was offering the May 2012 and showed the content of the magazine. Skirt 118 looked very attractive, showed my interest, gave my address and a few day laters I was the lucky owner of this BurdaStyle magazine. There was a little note on the magazine wishing me lots of pleasure with the magazine. The next step was finding suitable fabric for my next skirt.

Two homemade babyshower gifts

Our youngest daughter asked me a while ago if I could make a gift for het sister in law who was expecting her second child. Her sister in law is always admiring the clothes I made for my daughter. Flattered by this words so obviously I couldn’t refuse her request. The parents already knew it was going to be a boy again. Our youngest daughter had no suggestions so I started looking for inspiration. And then I saw this giant sloth on Instagram tegen een luiaard aan in de vorm van een knuffeldoek. I already had this pattern because I came across it while I was looking for patterns to make a soft toy sloth. After printing and finding fabrics I could start making it. Finally I ended making Two homemade babyshower gifts.

Orgaeuse Paris Top Hello Sunshine combination

We already had some hot sunny days and in the meantime my summer wardrobe also started growing. I’ve to admit wearing a skirt is far better then a jeans. This Orgaeuse Paris Top Hello Sunshine combination is my contribution for the ‘Lets Sti(c)k Together July challenge. The theme was this time ‘holiday’. You want to know how this combination fills the theme? This combination will be in my suitcase of course but fabric and pattern choose are also part of the this July theme.

Green Greener almost Greenest Garment Combination

I’ve been thinking for a while what to make from this fabric. I had spotted the Closet Case Charlie caftan a while ago and wanted to use it for this pattern. Closet Case has some great designs. The Kalle shirt is a perfect example of a Closet Case pattern that I’ve used already twice in a hack. I decided to make a toile first. The fit wasn’t what I was looking for and I didn’t had any idea what I had to change for a better look. In the meantime I made this two-piece refashion combination and wrote a blogpost about plastic free sewing. One thing let to another and this two piece Green Greener almost Greenest Garment Combination is the result.

Two discarded clothes turned into new two piece summer set

Our youngest daughter told me several times I should wear something else then a jeans during hot summer days. My last summer skirt has left my wardrobe a while ago. When it’s hot I usually wear my refitted GBSB Drapey Knit dress but that’s only for one day. The next day I want some fresh clothes.
So I was thinking for a while what to make for those tropical sunny days? What to wear instead of jeans that is comfortable when it’s hot. While I was re-organizing my discarded clothes stash I found this dress. I made this dress for our youngest daughter about 10 years ago. I also found a Top that belonged to our eldest daughter. The re-fashionist in me woke-up: Two discarded clothes turned into new two piece summer set.

Burdastyle 2018-02 #128 3/4 Sleeve Blouse

This Burdastyle 2018-02 #128 3/4 Sleeve Blouse is made of a pattern from the Burda Plus Size collection. This pattern was also released in the February edition of the Burda Style magazine. I bought this magazine to make this blouse for my mother. My mother had asked me to make a relax fitted blouse out of striped fabric. Sadly enough my previous bought fabric had a higher shrinkage percentage then I expected. New fabric was found at A.Boeken in Amsterdam where I also bought the fabric to make the LMV Aspen poloshirt. This is a 100% cotton striped fabric.

Elle Puls ShirtBOX pattern

Elle Puls is a German independent pattern designer. I made a few of her patterns and also did some testing for her. Elle Puls also has designed some pattern for taller women. This is great news if you’re taller then average. The side seam/hem construction from the Tunika Elle was already used twice in a pattern hack. The first time for the Closet Case Kalle shirt and the second time for the refashion of the LMV Carrie jurk. This time I’me testing a pattern for her: the Elle Puls ShirtBOX pattern.

LaMaisonVictor Aspen poloshirt

My husband is this time the subject of my sewing projects. I made for him a striped version of the LaMaisonVictor Aspen poloshirt. The LaMaisonVictor Aspen poloshirt is the third time that I’m using the LMV May/June2018 edition. It doesn’t happen often that I use a sewing magazine three times but this edition really had some great designs I could use. My LMV Malmö broek was worn at least once a week since I made it and also once in combination with the LMV Oslo blouse. A while ago I also made a poloshirt for my husband that he likes to wear. I decided not to use that pattern again but make this LMV version because my husband like the fit of his LMV Cliff hemd and LMV Bernie hemd.
