Februari roundup bucket list 2017 is about what I did during the second month of 2017 with my fifteen items on my 2017 bucket list. I’ve been sewing, started knitting and the daily cooking but also kept walking and we’ve visited two museums.
Februari roundup bucket list 2017 – cooking
I’ve used some of the recipes that came from the magazine I showed last month. The leek clafoutis was made twice because everyone loved it. I also started baking something sweet each week. The ‘Boer zoekt Vrouw’ show started two weeks ago and just like last year I make something sweet. All recipes are chosen from the countries were the farmers are living. You can read about all my makes when the farmers have chosen the one they will hopefully share the rest of their life with.
Februari roundup bucket list 2017 – The knitting
One of the bucket list items is to knit at least one item using yarn from my stash. I started almost three weeks ago and I’m using this pattern. The shawl will be rectangle but without the triangulair beginning and end. This shawl has short rows sections. Knitting short rows is something I’ve done only once so this a real challenge for me.
Rabbit Fabric Morning Robe is made for our youngest daughter. She loves rabbits and a while ago I made two sleep shirts for her using rabbit fabric. I also made this crazy apron and this lovely cushion for her. She was in need for a new morning robe. I found some lovely blue rabbit fabric that felt soft and warm last year and seems to be perfect to make a new morning robe. Cotton and polyester is the base of this fabric combined with 4% Elasthan. The inside has fine soft alpine fleece. I finally had time to draft a pattern and started sewing.
Sewing male underwear part 2 is my search to draft the ultimate sewing pattern for a round neck T-shirt and boxershort for my husband. I started sewing T-shirts and boxershorts for my husband almost a year ago and still he isn’t 100% satisfied with the result. He wanted another T-shirt length, some neckline changes and also some minor changes on the fit of the boxershorts. I drafted two new patterns and started cutting and sewing.
Overview 2016 #ninebest2016 – the highlights
Overview 2016 #ninebest2016 is a showcase of my nine best of 2016. On IG you can see a lot of people showing their nine best of 2016. Everyone has his own subject that he or she wants to show. Sewing White Round Neck Male T-Shirts – the following versies
Sewing White Round Neck Male T-Shirts is all about sewing the perfect White Round Neck Male T-shirt for my husband. After the last make he still had some issues that he wanted to be changed. First was the length of the T-shirts and secondly the shape and the finishing of the neckline. The length was the easiest to alter but the shape and the finishing of the neckline is a challenge to find out what he (really) wants.
BFL 2016 Zorgenvriendje – tweede versie
Sewing More Mens Wear Part 1 – the T-shirts
Sewing More Mens Wear Part 1 starts with my husbands white T-shirts. Almost a year ago I offered my husband to make his T-shirts. The T-shirts he bought were always to short. I just finished making version 4 and still there are some points of improvement in his opinion. He is happy with the finished neckline. I finished the neckline this time the same as I did with my last five top sewings. I also sewed at the hem V4 on both T-shirts. It’s hard to see the difference between all the versions and this way I can tell the versions apart. I’ve already bought some new white jersey at Stoffenspektakel recently to sew version 5. After pre-washing and finishing other projects I’ll start making them.
Jeanius Urbanears Cover refashion – the story
Jeanius Urbanears Cover refashion is my second make for Refashioners 2016. I made the Jeanius Urbanears Cover refashion for our eldest daughter. When I started unpicking a jeans for the Jeanius refashion relaxing neck pillow our eldest daughter asked me if I could to do some alterations on one of her coats. I said I could but in return she had to do the unpicking of the jeans. She agreed and while I was fishing the Jeanius refashion relaxing neck pillow she saw what was left of the jeans. She asked me if I could make a cover for her just bought Urbanears out of it. I had also some long terry fabric on the table that came from a discarded hoodie. The same hoodie were I got the red ribbon from. She wanted the long terry fabric to be used for the inside.
Two male chino trousers – the request
Two male chino trousers are made for a friend of us. He told me a while ago he couldn’t buy his favorite style chino trousers anymore. He wants them with a pleat in the front and also with an easy fit. So he asked me if I could make for him two new trousers. He gave me the oldest one with holes in the knees. The chino was taken apart and after that I copied all the pieces of the chino trousers. Another point is the color that has to be a kind of natural. I started looking on the internet and found two shops were they had this kind of fabric. I showed my friend both fabrics and they were approved.
