Seven House Toaster Sweater #2

I started with my version of the Seven House Toaster Sweater #2 after having contact with Ann. We both had the same reaction when we almost simultaneously published a blogpost about our last finished sweaters. Ann made a version of the Seven House Toaster Sweater #2 and I the Named Talvikki sweater. We saw each other sweaters and were wondering how bog the difference is between both designs. Ann and I wrote to each other and we decided to make the other design as well and write a blogpost about the other make as well to share our experiences and thoughts about the other design.

monthly sewing plans 2018

I wrote in my Round-up Bucket list 2017 that I was looking for another challenging bucket list 2018. On Instagram some sewists shared their #2018makenine sewing plans. I decided not to take part in this challenge because I find it hard to make at the beginning of a year sewing plans with patterns to use them throughout a year. Flaflinko came up with an idea that suited me more. She suggested to have a monthly sewing or blog related intention. My first idea was to let my monthly intention start with the first letter of that month.

The list looked like this but I decided to make some changes. The blogpost about the price ticket for homemade clothes and the given comments gave me some new ideas for my monthly sewing plans 2018. (meer…)

three hours fabric shopping Antwerp

My mother saw my Named Talvikki sweater and she asked me if I could make one for her. She first wanted a black one but when she saw my second version of the Talvikki sweater she told me she preferred a grey grey melee one too. I visited Belgium this week and Antwerp was on my list as well and had about three hours left to do something else. I decided to use it for fabric shopping and I found some addresses on the internet. The Belgium Let(s) Stick Together Facebook group gave me some advices too.

price ticket homemade clothes versus RTW clothes

Is it possible to make a price ticket for homemade clothes? This question came up after several remarks that probably my homemade clothes were cheaper then RTW clothes. Are homemade really cheaper then RTW clothes. Time to answer the price ticket homemade clothes versus RTW clothes question.

price ticket homemade clothes versus RTW clothes where to begin

One of the advantages of a sewing blog is an overview of what has keeping you busy. You can see the finished garment and also read how much time it took me to make it but aso how much I spend. I started with making an overview of the time and costs of all the garments I made this year and try to find a answer for the question: price ticket homemade clothes versus RTW clothes

Second serie homemade basic T-shirts

After making the first two basic T-shirts I decided to make two more basic T-shirts. Someone gave me a black/white striped jersey fabric because she knows I love wearing black/white clothes. I also knew there had to be a small striped black/white jersey fabric in my stash. After a quick look this fabric was found too. I could make a start with my second serie homemade basic T-shirts.

Two new homemade basic T-shirts

I’m a big fan of T-shirts. Comfortable to wear under a sweater but also in combination with a jacket or cardigan. I love wearing them because T-shirts are made of jersey fabric and stretch unlike blouses. You must’t think I’ve a lot T-shirts on my shelves. I’ve ten and some are bought and some are homemade. Sadly some of them were worn and faded. Time to replace them. I first looked in my stash to find some fabric and found some beautiful soft light grey jersey. I bought the second fabric in Leiden so I was ready to start maken my two new homemade basic T-shirts.

Zelfgemaakte portemonnee

Named Talvikki sweater versie 2
