Orageuse Paris Top fitted jersey version

The April challenge of The Monthly Stitch is under the supervision of Miss Bossy. She told us to dig in our stash. Fabrics and patterns needed to be dusted off and showed. Let others decide what you’re going to make. My three suggestions came from my notebook. I try to use only fabrics from my stash and sewing patterns that have already purchased as well. This challenge was perfect to make a start with my Summer sewings. I choose three UWYH projects with sewing pattern suggestions. Although it’s always a little frightening to let other people decide what you will make but I had done this once before. And the winner: fabric one. Here is the result: the Orageuse Paris Top fitted jersey version.

Kwik Sew 3484 pattern poloshirt hack

My Let’s Sti(c)k Together March challenge was making a poloshirt for my husband. I’m also a participant in the Breaking Ground Tour and decided to combine both challenges. First step: finding a suitable pattern for this make. I did a search on the internet with ‘poloshirt male sewing pattern’. The result was a bit disappointing and one of the suggestions was a Kwik Sew pattern.

I’ve never heard of Kwik Sew but this company seems to be founded in 1967. They design patterns for ‘real people’ and easy-to-follow sewing instructions. Kwik Sew 3484 is a dress shirt but I decided to challenge myself and turn the pattern into a pattern suitable to make poloshirt. The back body needed no alteration and the center front body pattern was also drafted on the pattern. Time for the Kwik Sew 3484 pattern poloshirt hack. I only made button plackets.

one pattern two dresses Day&Night Dress challenge 2018

Just like last year I used one pattern for both my Day&Night dresses. I gave a sneak peak of both designs on Instagram but also my fabrics choices for both dresses in this Day&Night Dress Challenge 2018 fabric choice blogpost. Both dresses are made of a self drafted T-shirt pattern that was altered into a dress pattern. Lots of designers have clothes with and asymmetrical look. This look is one of the 2018 style features. I decided to incorporate this feature in both my dresses. Time to reveal both my dresses and show you more of my coffee dress and cocktail dress.

Seven House Toaster Sweater #2

I started with my version of the Seven House Toaster Sweater #2 after having contact with Ann. We both had the same reaction when we almost simultaneously published a blogpost about our last finished sweaters. Ann made a version of the Seven House Toaster Sweater #2 and I the Named Talvikki sweater. We saw each other sweaters and were wondering how bog the difference is between both designs. Ann and I wrote to each other and we decided to make the other design as well and write a blogpost about the other make as well to share our experiences and thoughts about the other design.

Second serie homemade basic T-shirts

After making the first two basic T-shirts I decided to make two more basic T-shirts. Someone gave me a black/white striped jersey fabric because she knows I love wearing black/white clothes. I also knew there had to be a small striped black/white jersey fabric in my stash. After a quick look this fabric was found too. I could make a start with my second serie homemade basic T-shirts.

Two new homemade basic T-shirts

I’m a big fan of T-shirts. Comfortable to wear under a sweater but also in combination with a jacket or cardigan. I love wearing them because T-shirts are made of jersey fabric and stretch unlike blouses. You must’t think I’ve a lot T-shirts on my shelves. I’ve ten and some are bought and some are homemade. Sadly some of them were worn and faded. Time to replace them. I first looked in my stash to find some fabric and found some beautiful soft light grey jersey. I bought the second fabric in Leiden so I was ready to start maken my two new homemade basic T-shirts.

The announcement of this edition of the ‘Designin December’ challenge was done a few weeks ago. ‘Designin December’ is all about finding a designer original garment and make your designer me-made copy. I decided to make a two-piece part outfit suitable for Boxing Day and the days towards New Year. So here is my Homemade two-piece ‘Designin December’ 2017 party outfit story.

Named Talvikki sweater versie 2
