As seasons turns from winter into spring and summer and summer into autumn and winter, there is always a moment to take a look at your wardrobe and to be critical about what is hanging in your closet and especially the portability of a garment. I am not going to explain how to do this, there is plenty written about. Nor am I going to tell you how I do it. Except a wardrobe, I also have (of course) a stock of fabrics, sometimes with a sewing pattern of the garment to make. When I buy fabric and patterns I don’t have the intention to turn them into stash, but sometimes something happens and the fabric and pattern end on the shelf of my closet. The question now is, is this going to happen. Do I still find the pattern and fabric suitable and wearable or was it something I bought in impulse. One of these fabric-pattern packages has become this jacket. So in this case the original plan was carried out.
Bij het wisselen van de seizoenen is er altijd weer het moment om je kledingkast weer eens te bekijken en kritisch te zijn over wat er in je kast hangt en dan met name de draagbaarheid van een kledingstuk. Over hoe je te werk moet gaan, zal ik niet uitweiden, daar is genoeg over geschreven. Evenmin ga ik vertellen hoe ik dat doe. Behalve een kledingkast heb ik (natuurlijk) ook nog een hoeveelheid stof op voorraad liggen, soms met de patronen erbij. Uiteraard koop ik geen stof en patronen om er voorraad van te maken, maar er zijn tijden dat het gewoon gebeurt. De vraag waar ik mij dan ook overbuig is, past dit. Vind ik dat patroon en die stof nu nog wel zo leuk of was het ook zo’n bekende impulsaankoop. Een van deze stof-patroonpaketten is dit jasje geworden.
