I sew so now and then baby clothes for a charity organisation. This time patterns come form Belgian sewing magazine. Fibre Mood released in their first edition Blake, a cute pair of skinny baby trousers. Perfect choice for trying my second Fibre Mood pattern. The pattern for the romper was found in an old LMV magazine.
This Fibre Mood Skinny Blake broekje LMV Bo Romper combination is suitable for a baby girl and made in pink and grey light weighted fabrics.
Fibre Mood Skinny Blake broekje pattern
The Fibre Mood Skinny Blake broekje has two pattern pieces: one for the legs and one for the waistband. I added the waistband to the leg pattern and cut the added cuffs were cut of so I could make them from a contrast fabric. My version is made in size 68.
LMV Bo Romper pattern
The original LMV Bo Romper pattern has seven pattern pieces. I changed the romper pattern into a T-shirt by cutting of the under part of the pattern. I also added 1 centimeter seam allowances to the neckline to replace the neckbands. The sleeves are cut shorter and finished with cuffs made of a contrast fabric. This T-shirt is made in a matching size 68.
Stitching Fibre Mood Skinny Blake broekje and LMV Bo Romper
Both garments are entirely made on a lockmachine. The ‘neckbands’, seam and waistband are finished with a flatlock seam.
The flatlock seam gives a beautiful finish and if you work with two different colours you can get a great looking contrast effect. Changing the settings of your lockmachine is the only ‘disadvantage’.
I made a matching squared lovey using leftover materials a while ago. About two years ago I participated in BFL 2016 and made softs for sick children. Besides the so called ‘zorgenvriendjes’ one could also make loveys. This lovey is made of the BFL 2016 lovey. This matching lovey is made of pink terry and grey minky fleece. There’s a tab for a pacifier and on one of the decorative tags hangs a teething ring.

Result Fibre Mood Skinny Blake broekje and LMV Bo Romper?
The Blake broekje and Bo romper are looking great. Besides my personal alterations both patterns were made as copied from the pattern sheets. The Blake Skinny broekje was easy to make and is a great pattern for someone who just started sewing.
I’m very pleased with the result of my Bo Romper T-shirt variation. The flatlock finish is something I will use moer in the feature special when I make baby clothes. But I also have an idea for a T-shirt that I want to wear.
