Nine best 2017 projects and The UFO-poject
A Fashion Style jacket was hanging on my dress form for about a year or so. Despite a toile that was first made the jacket cut from the dark blue wollen fabric was to big. I started re-fitting this jacket after the Summer Holidays and about nine weeks later I finally could sew the button on to close the jacket. The jacket hangs now in my wardrobe waiting for the warmer days in Spring and Summer.
The re-fitted GBSB Drapey Knit dress
As soon as I saw this dress I knew I wanted to make it but unsuitable fabric made that I hardly wore the dress. I was about to donate the dress to a charity shop but decided to try it on one more time. The sleeves were removed and the side seams were fitted to the body. I’ve been wearing the re-fitted GBSB Drapey Knit dress many times during hot Summer days and I’m convinced that during the coming Summer this dress will be worn again.
Twinning is winning in the nine best 2017 projects
The fabric is the same, both makes have an asymmetrical neckline and both have stripe playing. My version wasn’t planned to make. Leftover fabric, the Stick Belgique challenge, a pattern hack, some puzzling with the fabric and pattern, a few sewing hours and my twinning is winning T-shirt was ready.
Unusual details in nine best 2017 projects
I made a LMV Cliff overhemd for my husband with a triangular shaped welt pocket because the back of the shoulder yoke also as a triangular shape as well. The Elle Puls Tunika Elle pattern hack also has a triangular shaped welt pocket in a slightly different model. I even won a price in the TMS Indie pattern month with this make. The DP Studio Le002 pull is one of my favourites sweaters. The beautiful neckline and the seams across the body gives this pull an interesting look.
The refashions in the nine best 2017 projects
I can’t resist re-using discarded clothes and make great refashions out of them. The good luck ragdoll pig is made from a discarded morning robe during the Oktober Christmas gift inspiration month. This pig is my own design and drafted pattern. You still can download the lucky ragdoll pig pattern and sewing instructions for free. My last item for the nine best 2017 projects is made of a large discarded T-shirt. I did another pattern hack to make a new T-shirt with and asymmetrical placed button closure.
Our eldest daughter gave me this agenda. She asked me if I wanted it and I decided to use it for my sewing projects. I’ll use this agenda from day-to day writing down sewing plans and drawings of ideas. I’ve already some ideas and will start drafting and sewing in the first week of January so I can show another nine best projects at the end of 2018.
